Alyssa Himmelman is the sister of Jeremy Himmelman. Police say 18-year-old Devon Arthurs confessed to killing the 22-year-old Himmelman and 18-year-old Andrew Oneschuk in the Tampa apartment they shared. They say Arthurs claimed the two were neo-Nazis who disparaged his Islamic faith. Arthurs says he previously shared their views before converting to Islam.

TEXAS WOMAN DIES WHILE SNORKELING IN THE FLORIDA KEYS

Sheriff’s spokeswoman Becky Herrin in Florida’s Monroe County says 58-year-old Cheri Crozier was with her husband in waters off a state park Tuesday afternoon when she began having trouble. Herrin’s statement says Crozier began having difficulty swimming and they yelled for help from the crew of their snorkeling boat. Crew members threw her a rope and began pulling her to the boat.

RACCOON CAUSES POWER OUTAGE IN CENTRAL FLORIDA

Chris Gent, the vice president of corporate communications for the Kissimmee Utility Authority, says the raccoon climbed onto a 13,200-volt piece of equipment at a substation late Tuesday, causing three primary feeder lines to fail. The outage left nearly 5,200 people without power for almost an hour. Gent says the raccoon died at the scene.

CAR SMASHES INTO GAS STATION PUMP, CAUSING FIRE: 1 KILLED

Local news organizations report the fire erupted at a BP station in Dania Beach on Tuesday night after a driver plowed into a gas pump, killing a person. No one was pumping gas at the time of the crash, and the impact was so strong that the pump nearly ended up on a nearby road. The Broward Sheriff’s Office says traffic homicide detectives are investigating the circumstances of the crash.
