POLICE FATALLY SHOOT MAN SUSPECTED OF KILLING 2 OTHERS
Cape Coral police said in a news release that officers responding to a shooting call Sunday evening found the motorcyclist dead along a roadway. While working that scene, a second call came in about a shooting at a nearby convenience store. There, officers found one person dead. Another person there had injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

Osceola County Sheriff’s Office Twis Lizasuain told local media outlets that Latifa Lincoln, 46, and Maksmilla Lincoln were found inside their SUV near mile marker 224 on Thursday afternoon. The vehicle had an unknown hazardous substance inside that also caused two sheriff’s deputies and a Florida Highway Patrol trooper to be hospitalized after making contact with it, Lizasuain said.

Resident Barry Zimmerman, frustrated with salacious jokes connecting Lake Horney with its unfortunate homophone, petitioned the U.S Board of Geographic Names to rename it in honor of Alfred Lodwick. Lodwick was an aviation pioneer who built a military pilot training program in Lakeland during World War II.
