It’s the second-highest residential sale in Miami-Dade County this year. The home was put on the market three months ago for $28 million. It sold for $23.46 million. Listing agent Judy Zeder of EWM Realty International says the custom-built home has views of downtown Miami and Biscayne Bay.
SECURITY TIGHTER AT FLORIDA COURTHOUSE AFTER SUSPECT ESCAPES
Sheriff Scott Israel said Monday that effective immediately, inmates such as 21-year-old Dayonte Resiles will remain guarded by an armed deputy while in any courtroom. Previously the armed deputies departed after handing off such inmates to unarmed bailiffs.
THE ‘EARTHQUAKE’ OFF FLORIDA’S COAST WAS LIKELY NAVY TESTING
Seismographs detected the earthquake Saturday afternoon about 168 nautical miles northeast of Daytona Beach Shores. A similar 3.7 magnitude “earthquake” on June 10 off of Ormond-by-the-Sea happened about the same time the Navy reported conducting a shock trial on the USS Jackson for testing.
MOTHER WHO ATTEMPTED TO KILL CHILDREN TO LEARN FATE FRIDAY
Ebony Wilkerson of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, appeared before a judge Monday. She stood trial for the attempted murder of her three young children after authorities say she drove into the Atlantic Ocean just off of Daytona Beach in 2014. Wilkerson could have her conditional release revoked after she stopped taking her medication while staying at Lake Wales Care Center.
SUSPECT’S VEHICLE HITS POLICE OFFICER DURING TRAFFIC STOP
Police spokesman L.A. Turner says the officer “was banged up pretty good” when the suspect’s vehicle hit him Monday and knocked him about 20 feet.
