DIVER ON GATOR ATTACK: ‘I STARTED PUNCHING…HE LET GO’

A Florida man who was attacked by an alligator while diving for golf balls in a lake says the reptile grabbed his arm and wouldn’t let go so he started punching it in the eyes. Scott Lahodik told Fox 13 that he was diving on Friday in the southwest Florida lake and felt the alligator clamp onto his arm.

FLORIDA MAN DIES OF COMPLICANTS FROM GUNSHOT NEARLY 60 YEARS AGO

A Florida man died of a gunshot wound nearly 60 years after the bullet was fired, a medical examiner says. The Palm Beach Post reported Monday that the county medical examiner determined that John Henry Barrett, 77, died in May of an infection and complications related to the gunshot wound and ruled his death a homicide.

Authorities say a 3-year-old Florida boy died after he was beaten with a plastic rod because he drank milk from a jug. Orange County sheriff’s investigators say Xavier Mokarzel-Satchel was killed by his mother’s roommates, 58-year-old Callene Barton and 28-year-old Lakesha Lewis.

FLORIDA MAN SAYS MONKEYS COMING IN DROVES FOR DEER FOOD

A Florida man says he’s got a monkey problem. News outlets report that Brian Pritchard of Ocala says troops of rhesus monkeys swarm his property two times a day to swipe food in a feeder meant for deer. Cameras he set up to photograph the deer instead captured pictures of dozens of monkeys.

SEPTEMBER SENTENCING FOR CUBAN BASEBALL PLAYER SMUGGLERS

A September sentencing date has been set for a sports agent and a baseball trainer convicted in Miami of smuggling Cuban baseball players into the U.S. Court records show a federal judge has set Sept. 29 for the sentencing of agent Bartolo Hernandez and trainer Julio Estrada.
