The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission received a report about the non-native snake Monday evening. FWC spokesman Lenny Salberg says officers tried to capture the snake but ended up shooting it when it tried to escape.
SUSPECT SHOT DURING HOME INVASION
Winter Park police Sgt. Frank Cowart says officers responded to burglary call shortly after noon Thursday. Officials say a suspect vehicle later crashed in Maitland, and three men tried to flee on foot. Officers arrested a suspect who was suffering from a gunshot wound, but the other two escaped.
