Lady Raiders softball shines at tourney

Taelor-Smith-delivers-a-strike-against-TateA week that started out so well for the Lady Raiders softball team ended badly. They traveled to Panama City Feb. 21 without a loss on the season to play in a weekend tournament. The Lady Raiders returned from the tournament, winning three of four games.

On Feb. 25, they lost their first district softball game to Niceville. Two nights later, with several players unable to take the field, the Raiders lost their second district game to Tate.

The Raiders suffered their first defeat, 5 – 0 at the hands of Lincoln in the opening game of the weekend tournament. To add insult to injury, Lincoln pitcher Tahlia Snider no-hit the Raiders while striking out eight batters.
