Three NHS players picked to all-star teams

Robbie Miller, Brooke Murphy and Audrey Thomas have been selected to participate in the Subway High School All-Star Baseball and Softball games that will begin with a home run derby at 5 p.m. at the University of West Florida. The softball game is scheduled to start at 6 p.m., while the baseball game’s first pitch is planned for 6:30 p.m. Admission is $7, or $5 with the donation of a canned food item for Manna Food Pantries.

Miller earned Navarre High’s “Silver Slugger” award after leading the team with a .342 batting average, 25 hits and 16 runs scored. Miller also topped the squad in on-base percentage (.449) and slugging percentage (.452).

Murphy is the softball team’s 2013 Player of the Year and the daughter of softball coach/athletic director Scott Murphy. Scott Murphy announced at the team’s annual banquet last week that Thomas was his selection for the Coach’s Award.
