Armed Robbery at Navarre Turf

Read more...Just before 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 15, Santa Rosa County deputies responded to an armed robbery located at 9970 Navarre Pkwy (Navarre Turf). The victim was sitting inside watching TV when a black male walked in through the front door. The male was approximately 6' tall and skinny, wearing a plain red t shirt, blue jean shirts and black tennis shoes. The male had gloves on and his shirt was pulled up over his nose mouth area. He pointed a black handgun at the victim and demanded the money from the drawer. The victim took the money out of the drawer and put the money down on the counter. The male walked around the counter and observed the safe under the cash register. He then demanded the money from the safe. The safe was opened and the male grabbed the money. The male then ran out of the door and left on foot east around the building. A perimeter was setup and a K9 unit was requested. K9 tracked east side of the building north towards Bandera St. where the track was lost on a roadway. It is believed the suspect fled in an unknown vehicle. This investigation is ongoing. More information will be release when it becomes available.
