The Navarre High School baseball team advanced to the second round of a district tournament for the first time in four years with a dramatic 13-inning win against Milton, but the Raiders’ struggles against Pace continued in the District 1-6A semifinals.
The Patriots claimed a 5-3 victory April 24 at Tate High School in Cantonment despite managing just three hits against Navarre pitching.
The Raiders ended the season with an 11-15 record.
Pace, which hadn’t lost a district game in 2013, beat Navarre 7-2 and 4-0 in the regular season. The second-seeded Patriots beat tournament host and top-seeded Tate 2-1 on April 25 to win their fourth consecutive district title.
