Southern Raceway in Milton is returning to the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series for the 2013 season. Southern Raceway officials are currently putting together a schedule for their Crate Late Model Division during the 27-week season for the series that began March 25 and runs through Sept. 29.
Drivers in the Southern Raceway NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Late Model Division are eligible for a national point fund that pays $10,000 to the champion, and pays back through the Top 10 drivers in the national point standings. Southern Raceway competitors will also be eligible for a separate track point-fund.
The Southern Raceway competitors will battle against drivers at other NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series sanctioned tracks throughout the country using a points system that counts a driver’s best 14 weekly point totals.
