Friends and family joined Navarre High School senior Hayley Naker on March 12 in the school’s cafeteria/auditorium, where she signed a letter of intent to play soccer at Huntingdon College in Montgomery, Ala.
Naker, a four-year varsity starter for the Lady Raiders, plans to major in nursing.
“She has maintained a 3.89 GPA and was recognized as the top academic performer in her class in all four years,” Navarre coach Rob Simon said. “Hayley has been a leader on the field and in the classroom.”
The defender is a three-time National Soccer Coaches Association of America Team Academic All-American selection. Simon expects her to be named to that team again in 2013.
Naker was a team captain in her senior year and was selected by the Pensacola Sports Association to play for the East team (featuring senior standouts from Okaloosa and Santa Rosa county schools) in its Subway High School All-Star Series girls’ soccer match.
