Quarterback Club presents awards

The 2012 Navarre High School football team had plenty to celebrate. Two months after the school’s greatest gridiron season yet ended with a state semifinal loss to Gainesville, the Raiders and their supporters could set aside that disappointment and appreciate their accomplishments. The Navarre Raiders Quarterback Club hosted its annual football honors banquet Sunday at the Soundside Club at Hurlburt Field. Awards presented include:

• Raider Captain: Johnny Robinson-Pettus, senior running back/cornerback
• Offensive Co-Captain: Andrew Rieves, senior quarterback
• Offensive Co-Captain: Jay Warren, senior running back
• Defensive Co-Captain: Devin Colonel, senior linebacker
• Defensive Co-Captain: Mason Mikul, senior linebacker
• Special Teams Captain: Nick Benton, senior return specialist
• Academic Freshman: Jaxson Aldrich, wide receiver/defensive back, Alpha GPA 4.12
• Academic Sophomore: Billy Unterbrink, wide receiver/defensive back, Alpha GPA 4.22
• Academic Junior: Chandler Moorer, placekicker, 4.52
• Academic Senior: Matthew Privette, wide receiver, Alpha GPA 4.52
