The Navarre boys’ soccer team beat South Walton at home 3-0 on Jan. 2 in a non-district match.

The Raiders were a little rusty after a two-week break from school. Raider passes seemed to barely elude the intended receivers. Coach Ken MacDonald substituted freely trying to get the Raiders familiar with playing together at game speed. A couple players are coming off injuries and his goal was to ease them back into playing and avoid an aggravation of the injuries. By the second half of play, the passes became more accurate and the Walton keeper fielded a barrage of Raider shots.
Brendon White started the scoring at the 12-minute mark of the first half. He split two defenders inside the 18-yard line and his left foot put the ball into the upper right corner of the net to give the Raiders a 1-0 lead.
The Raider record is 7-2-2 and 4-1 in district play. The next game is scheduled Friday at Tate.
