Tuesday, Dec. 11, was a night of firsts for Navarre High School coach Greg Boozer and his Lady Raiders.
Not only was the 39-25 home win against the Washington Lady Wildcats the first win of the season for the Navarre girls’ basketball team, but it was the first District 1-6A win of the young season and the first-ever Lady Raider victory over the historically strong Washington basketball team.
“We have come a long way in a short time,” said Boozer, a former NHS girls’ coach and boys’ assistant who didn’t resume head-coaching duties until the end of July.
