Navarre High School’s girls’ basketball team pulled to within a point of visiting Crestview late in the third quarter Monday, but the Bulldogs pulled away in the final period to claim a 69-56 win in the first game for both teams.
Arianna Simms and Jensis Coleman scored 17 points apiece for Crestview (1-0), Kerrie York added 14 and Malia Gandy 12. Nadia Fingall and Hannah Worden each scored 10 points for Navarre (0-1).
The Raiders are scheduled to host Niceville on Thursday and Gulf Breeze on Friday before taking off Thanksgiving week. Junior varsity games are scheduled for 5 p.m. Thursday and 5:30 p.m. Friday, with varsity contests at 6:30 p.m. and 7 p.m., respectively.
