Ice Flyers host Surge in home-opener

The Pensacola Ice Flyers will play the Mississippi Surge at 7:05 p.m. Friday at Pensacola Bay Center – aka “The Hangar.”

It’s the first home game of the new season for the Ice Flyers (1-1), who lost their season-opener at the defending champion Columbus, Ga., Cottonmouths, 4-0, On Oct. 26 and beat Mississippi 2-0 in Biloxi on Saturday.

Pensacola’s last game at the Bay Center was against the Cottonmouths in the Southern Professional Hockey League finals last season.

The Ice Flyers will host the Louisiana IceGators at 7:05 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3. The team encourages fans to bring donations for Manna Food Pantries to each game. Fans who donate can enter to win an autographed team jersey; a winner will be selected at each game.
