Navarre 13th in latest AP poll

Despite winning its fourth straight game, a 21-17 come-from-behind homecoming thriller Friday against Choctawhatchee, Navarre High School (5-1 overall, 2-0 in District 2-6A) slipped a spot from 12^th to 13^th in this week’s AP Florida High School Football Class 6A poll.

The Lake Gibson Braves (6-0) upset then third-ranked Winter Haven 28-24 to leapfrog from 15^th in last week’s Class 6A rankings to No. 7 in the latest poll.

The Raiders earned nine polling points – four more than it did a week ago. Pace was the only other area Class 6A team in the poll, ranked 16^th with a single point.

The Northview Chiefs (4-2), ranked fourth in Class 1A, are the highest-ranked team in Northwest Florida. Undefeated West Florida (6-0) is eighth in Class 5A and Pensacola Catholic is ninth in Class 3A.
