Former Navarre High School baseball coach under investigation

Mickey OQuinnThe Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office is investigating allegations of misconduct of former Navarre High School teacher and baseball coach Kevin Michael "Mickey" O'Quinn.

Sgt. Scott Haines, public information officer with the sheriff's office, confirmed that there were two open investigations into O'Quinn, stemming from incident reports filed on Jan. 13 and Jan. 30 of this year.

A former student accused O'Quinn of inappropriate behavior while she was attending Navarre High School.

Haines said he couldn't go into detail about the allegations, citing the investigation as on-going.

O'Quinn has denied any knowledge of a sheriff's office investigation.

On Jan. 30, O'Quinn resigned from Navarre High School, citing personal reasons. When asked if the resignation had to do with the investigations, O'Quinn said that they were merely rumors and that he "resigned for my family and to get into another career field that I have been investigating for some time... I don't understand or know anything about these investigations because there are none."
