Senior running back Dwayne Carter finished his record-setting Navarre career with more than 200 yards rushing and a pair of touchdowns, one a 14-yarder on the game’s final play.
The win was the Raiders’ fifth-straight in the series and their fourth consecutive Beach Bowl victory. Publix Supermarkets and the Gulf Breeze News have presented the Beach Bowl Cup to the rivalry game’s winner each year since 2008.
Gulf Breeze (6-4) already had clinched its first playoff appearance since 2003, finishing second to West Florida in District 1-5A after a three-way tiebreaker round Nov. 7. The Dolphins will play District 2-5A champion Wakulla at 7:30 p.m. Friday in Crawfordville.
