The Navarre High School volleyball team met Choctaw at home on Sept. 26 to play in the 'Fight like a Girl' benefit game for Breast Cancer Awareness. All proceeds from the match went to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
Maybe it was the cause or their pink socks and jerseys. Whatever it was, the Lady Raiders came out smoking in the first game. Allison Freer started the first game serving eight straight points. Sarah Betts had a block and a kill to keep the streak alive
The two teams traded side outs until Lauren Osburn served four straight to take a 15 to 4 lead. Allison Freer made a great diving dig for one of the points.
Choctaw fought back to close the lead to 15 to 10. However Allyson Bacon served five straight points and the Raiders had a 23 to 12 lead. After a side-out, Allyson Freer's ace finished the game.
