Navarre Press has assembled its Pigskin Pickin’ and Prognosticatin’ Panel for another season of college football.
Last year, newcomer Jeff Roberts, a former Holley-Navarre firefighter, swept the competition, stealing the pigskin crown from three-time champ, Mike Simpson.
Roberts is still holding on to his prize, a week-long vacation at a location of his choice.
“We haven’t figured out where we want to go yet,” Roberts told Navarre Press after signing back up for another season.
Both Mike Tucker, and Cricket Anderson – another long-time panelist, were ousted from competition last year.
In their place, ready and rearin’ to go are Stan McGill, a member of the U.S. Air Force and avid Navarre Press reader; and Kelly Fuller, membership director at the Navarre Beach Area Chamber of Commerce.
Now, McGill may have a shot this year. McGill told Navarre Press he would pick right alongside the panelists, often coming out better than the bobbleheads!
As for Fuller, she’s new to the game, but is sure she can hold her own.
Returning panelists include Simpson, Joy Tsubooka, Santa Rosa County public information officer; Glenn
Lattanze, also a member of the U.S. Air Force and avid Navarre Press reader ; and Steve Captain, owner of Captain’s Lawn Care.
Their first slate of picks will appear in the Sept. 1 issue of Navarre Press.
