No one would blame head coach Chad Lashley of Navarre High School’s football team if he waved the white surrender flag before this season even began.
The 2010 Raiders peaked on the field at the right time, while trying to understand the physical struggles of teammate Ian Lockwood, who was diagnosed with cancer.
Last year’s football squad saw a hungry bunch of Raiders go further in the Florida High School Athletic Association playoffs than any Navarre team ever had—losing by a point in the state region finals to eventual State Champion Tallahassee Lincoln.
Surrendering is certainly not in Lashley’s DNA, much less in the 80 young men, who will participate in high school football for Navarre High School this fall. Lashley and his staff firmly believe that having the positive principles of hard work and tremendous character are what makes their team.
