It was a busy week for the Navarre Raiders, as they packed in four home basketball games, winning over Pine Forest, 72-61, and Tate, 69-35, but losing to top-ranked Escambia, 58-44, and in overtime to Gulf Breeze, 57-54.
“The win over Pine Forest was big for us,” said Raider coach Rob Whitley, “because that team, along with Escambia, has to be the two favorites for the district crown. Our lopsided win over Tate was a morale builder for us and shows what this team is capable of. The win over Pine Forest was the first time this season that we played well in all four quarters.”
Savon Bracey scored 22 to lead Navarre in its win over Pine Forest, while Jarrell Cunningham was the lord of the boards with 14 rebounds, three blocked shots and nine points. Andre Selby finished with 11 points and point guard Kevin Ritchie scored 10 while Te Van Grant came off the bench to score eight. Cody Jennings added six points and Jordan Leggett had five.
