Pandolfi seeks new golf challenge

It didn’t take long for Jennifer Pandolfi, a 2004 Navarre High School graduate, to establish herself as one of the best young golf coaches in the region. The University of West Florida hired “Dolf” in February to lead its women’s team; in April, the Gulf South Conference honored her as its 2010 Coach of the Year.

The Argonauts won their fifth straight conference championship but missed being selected for the NCAA Super Regional for the first time since 2004. UWF was ranked 11th nationally, but the nine teams that advanced to the postseason from the Argos’ region were ranked higher.

Pandolfi knows what it will take for her team to advance to the Super Regional and further. She played four years at Duke University, helping the Blue Devils to win four Atlantic Coast Conference titles and three national championships. She hopes that experience will help her build upon the tradition of excellence her predecessor, Robin Dezarn, has developed at UWF.
