Brianna Risner connected with a fastball and sent the ball sailing over the left field fence with runners on each base to abruptly end the game and send Escambia on its way with a 11-0 loss Friday to the Navarre High School varsity softball team. Risner’s big blow came in the bottom of the fifth inning allowing Navarre to chalk up its second 10 run, five inning mercy rule win of the season.

Risner may have provided the crowning blow for the Lady Raider’s offense, but right hand hurler Aubrey Thomas was working her own magic tossing five shutout innings against the visiting Lady Gators.  In five innings Thomas fanned six, walked one and held the Escambia batters to just four hits.
