Santa Rosa County Fair supporters can lease 25 acres needed for its “Agri-Plex” project from the county — if they present an acceptable master plan in 90 days.
“I don’t think anybody up here’s against it,” said Santa Rosa County Commissioner Don Salter at the commission’s Sept. 7 meeting. “I just don’t think we can develop that property the way it should be without developing a master plan and sticking to it.“
The Santa Rosa County Fair Association Inc., a nonprofit group created in 1991 to operate the fair, has asked for a 10-year lease for 25 acres north of East Milton Park on which it proposes to build a multiuse staging area and midway. In exchange, the association would spend at least $10,000 for capital improvements each year of the lease agreement.
