Holley-Navarre Fire Department responded to a car fire on Highway 87 on Monday, after the driver reported the interior was engulfed in flames. Traffic on Highway 87 that was preparing to turn east on US 98 had to be diverted for about an hour until the situation was brought under control. Santa Rosa Education Foundation has announced the five semifinalists selected from 33 nominees for Santa Rosa School District’s Teacher of the Year.  Congratulations to Tami McConnell, Navarre High; Tammie White, Holley-Navarre Intermediate; Audrey Goodwin, B.C. Russell Elementary; Kenda Parker, Santa Rosa High; and Annette Smith, S.S. Dixon Intermediate. The SREF Teacher of the Year Selection Committee will observe the semifinalists in their classrooms and conduct interviews before selecting three finalists later this month.

 

Higher Ground Coffee and Tea Co. hosted the first of three Meet the Navarre Press mornings on Jan. 7, in which the public was invited to meet newspaper staff to discuss issues, make suggestions or just get to know the people behind the bylines.
