FOOTBALL: No playoffs for Navarre

Niceville and Choctaw sealed Navarre’s postseason fate Friday, clinching District 2-6A’s playoff berths with wins against Crestview and Fort Walton Beach, respectively.

The Raiders (4-5) were tied with the Eagles and Indians with 3-1 district records before this weekend’s games, but lost 49-20 to Mosley on Thursday in Lynn Haven. The loss, coupled with Niceville and Choctawhatchee's wins, pushed Navarre into third place. Only two teams from each district qualify for the postseason.

Navarre will play its final game Friday at Gulf Breeze in the annual Publix Beach Bowl.

District winner Niceville (6-4) will host District 1-6A runner-up Pace (8-2) and Choctaw (7-2) will play at 1-6A champ Pensacola (8-1) at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 18.
