The Navarre Beach fireworks show will go on as planned on Thursday, despite a gloomy forecast. Mike Sandler of the Navarre Area Chamber of Commerce said Wednesday afternoon that there is a cover for the firework launching equipment which allows it to shoot fireworks through rain.
The fireworks show, set to begin just after dark and following the Concerts in the Park across the Sound at Navarre Beach, will still take place through rain — no matter how heavy. The only scenario in which the show will not go on will be in the case of lightning or severe weather such as tornado warnings. Sandler said that even if the concert is cancelled, the fireworks will still take place unless there is severe weather.
