Deputy tax collector faces sexual assault charges

Edward Eugene Collinsworth, Santa Rosa County chief deputy tax collector, was arrested Oct. 9 for 10 counts of sexual assault.

According to a Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office arrest report, Collinsworth, 45, of Pace was charged with sexual battery on a victim under the age of 12. 

According to the incident report, the alleged sexual battery occured from 1979 to 1986. The victim stated that the alleged sexual battery began when he was around age 5 or 6 and continued until he was about 12 years old.
