Navarre Beach Causeway remains open

 Joy Tsubooka, Santa Rosa County public information officer, said Navarre Beach Causeway would remain open until further notice.

Tsubooka said the bridge would not close until there were sustained tropical storm winds of 39 miles per hour. The county has issued an evacuation order for Navarre Beach, but the county said the evacuation orders will not prevent residents or businesses from securing or accessing their property today.

Florida Department of Transportation stated that tolls are suspended as of 8 a.m. today on the Garcon Point Bridge for evacuations. Tolls will remain suspended until further notice. 

While tolls are suspended, SunPass customers may hear their transponders beep as they travel under the all-electronic tolling gantries, but their accounts will not be charged.
