Maximo Amores, 35, the driver of the Lexus that killed two Santa Rosa County residents on July 14 in Gadsden County, is in the custody of the Florida Highway Patrol and has been processed for extradition to Mississippi to face charges of breaking parole, according the to the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
Amores was on parole in Jackson County, Miss., for burglary and his parole was not set to expire until October 2015 when he was involved in the fatal motor vehicle accident on July 14 that killed Robert Hunsucker III, 25, of Milton and Decire Febus, 23, of Navarre.
Amores, of Gautier, Miss., was driving eastbound in the westbound lane of Interstate 10 when his car struck a 2010 Kia Soul being driven by Hunsucker; Febus was in the passenger seat. Both were both killed on impact.
