Motorcycle accident leaves Navarre resident in critical condition

Navarre resident Jared Morgan, 29, is in critical condition after an early-morning accident on June 9 at the corner of U.S. Highway 98 and Villa Vizcaya Drive.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol report, Morgan was traveling west on U.S. 98 driving his 2006 Honda motorcycle on the outside lane while Kenn Hanson, 24, of Mary Esther was also traveling west on U.S. 98 behind the wheel of his 2003 Volkswagen GTX on the inside lane.

Hanson came up behind a sport utility vehicle and changed into the outside lane in attempt to pass it but failed to see Morgan, rear-ending his motorcycle, sending him airborne and into the westbound, inside lane.

Morgan was then airlifted to Baptist Hospital in Pensacola where he was listed in critical condition. Meanwhile, Hanson was treated at the scene for minor injuries and released.
