Slye arrested on felony charges

Dorothy Slye

Dorothy Slye, manager of the county-owned Navarre Beach Fishing Pier and proprietor of the Pier Bar & Grill, was arrested on April 29 on charges of domestic battery violence, a misdemeanor, and one felony count for tampering with a witness or victim.

According to the report from the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office, the victim called 911 after an altercation with Slye that began the previous day (April 28).

Slye was arrested on one charge of misdemeanor domestic battery violence and one felony count for tampering with a witness or victim. Because the crimes involved domestic violence, there was no bond set for Slye until her first court appearance.

Slye is a board member of the Santa Rosa County Tourist Development Council, real estate broker of Navarre Beach Agency, treasurer of Navarre Area Board of Realtors and owner of Sandy Bottoms on Navarre Beach. As manager of the Navarre Beach Fishing Pier, Slye is in charge of about $500,000 of county taxpayer funds.
