Robert Dakota Brannon, 18, of Navarre was killed in a car wreck at 1 a.m. Saturday morning on U.S. Highway 98 in Gulf Breeze.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol report, Brannon was traveling westbound on U.S. 98 approaching the intersection of Kelton Boulevard when his 2002 Honda Civic traveled onto the northern grass shoulder of U.S. 98. His vehicle collided with a cement utility pole and rotated counterclockwise and vaulted into a cement traffic light pole. The report stated that FHP is investigating the reason Brannon veered off the road. The report stated he was not wearing a seatbelt.
