Robledol shooting believed accidental

Santa Rosa County Sheriff's deputies are investigating a shooting that occurred in the Robledol subdivision in Navarre last night.

Shortly after 8 p.m., deputies were dispatched to 7056 Lago Mirado Drive and were told that a juvenile had "accidentally shot another juvenile" in the leg with a rifle, according to a press release issued by the sheriff's office.

The victim was taken by ambulance to Sacred Heart Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Preliminary reports indicated that the shooting was accidental, and that "the juvenile with the rifle was showing it to his friends and was not aware that it was loaded," the release stated.
