Navarre High’s football Raiders evened their overall record and kept pace in the District 2-6A title chase with a 35-14 win Friday at Fort Walton Beach. The win gave Navarre (4-4, 3-1 district) consecutive victories for the first time this season. The loss was the Vikings’ fourth straight after winning their first four games this season. Fort Walton Beach fell to 4-4, 0-4 in the district.
The Raiders are scheduled to play their final district game against Mosley (4-4, 1-3) on Friday in Lynn Haven before traveling to Gulf Breeze on Nov. 11 for the annual Beach Bowl clash of south Santa Rosa County rivals. Navarre moved into a three-way tie atop the district standings with Choctawhatchee and Niceville. The Indians and Eagles played non-district games against Gulf Breeze and Auburn, Ala., respectively, on Friday and will play their final district games Nov. 4. If there’s a three-way tie for the district’s two playoff spots, tiebreakers will be played on Monday, Nov. 7.
