A Navarre teen was cited for careless driving when the car he was driving rear-ended another in the early morning hours of Oct. 17.
Christopher Hosler, 18, was traveling east on U.S. Highway 98 shortly after 5 a.m., behind another car driven by Brandi Reed, 29, of Navarre.
Hosler failed to see Reed slowing at a flashing light at the intersection of Coral Street, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report, and struck Reed's car in the rear.
Reed was transported to Sacred Heart Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts and alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash.
