Convicted sex offender arrested for allegedly molesting a victim under 12

A Navarre man and convicted sex offender was arrested on charges of capital sexual battery on a victim under 12 Tuesday.

Justin Andrew Redfield, 25, was also charged with nine counts of lewd and lascivious molestation.

Redfield was arrested after allegations were made that he had sexually molested a victim under 12, several times, at his home, located on the 2200 block of Panhandle Trail, according to a press release issued by the Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office.

The victim told deputies that the crimes occurred between Sept. 1 and Oct. 11.

Redfield was questioned by detectives, and at first he denied any inappropriate contact with the victim.

However, later in the interview, Redfield admitted that he "accidentally touched the victim inappropriately while the victim was naked and they were wrestling on the floor," the release states.

Redfield became a convicted sex offender following an incident in October 2006 in Sanilac, Mich.

He is currently being held at the Santa Rosa County Jail on a $475,000 bond.
