The Santa Rosa County Board of Commissioners public hearing to receive public input and to adopt proposed new commission district boundaries, has been rescheduled for Thursday, Oct. 27 at 9:30 a.m.
The meeting was postponed to ensure proper public advertisement of the meeting. The public is encouraged to attend the meeting held in commission meeting room located at 6495 Caroline St., in Milton, or view the meeting online at www.santarosa.fl.gov/bocc/meetings.html.
The proposed district map and the written legal descriptions are available online at www.santarosa.fl.gov/redistricting. The Santa Rosa County Board of Commissioners, along with all levels of government, is required to adjust the boundaries of the county commission districts following each decennial federal census to ensure fair representation. Adjustments to the boundaries are made to ensure that the population is divided as evenly as possible into the commission districts.
