Football: Pensacola 29, Navarre 22

Pensacola beat Navarre 29-22 Friday in the first-ever meeting between the two high school football teams.

The Tigers, ranked fifth in The Associated Press Class 6A football poll, rushed for more than 300 yards and controlled the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. Quarterback Jalen Spencer and running back Jimmy Threat led Pensacola to a 23-7 lead after three quarters and the defense survived Navarre's furious fourth-quarter assault.

"That was a battle," Raiders head coach Chad Lashley said after the game. "That was a good high school football game."
