County appoints TDC members

Santa Rosa County Board of County Commissioners approved re-appointing Jack Sanborn, owner of Adventures Unlimited, to another four-year term on the Tourist Development Council and approved the appointment of Mike Loera to the board for a two-year term.

Commissioner Don Salter recommended appointing Loera, who is the director of sales at the Hampton Inn in Navarre, because the current board didn’t have anyone representing the hotel industry. All the other bed-tax collectors on the board are property managers on Navarre Beach.

Commissioners Jim Wiliamson and Jim Melvin recommended appointing Laurie Gallup, co-owner of Navarre Properties, because of her four-year commitment to the TDC south committee and because she was passed over last time there was an available seat on the board.

Commissioners Bob Cole and Lane Lynchard agreed Loera would bring a new prospective to the board. The board approved with no objection.

Melvin said Santa Rosa was one of the few counties that didn’t have term limits on the TDC and would like to see that addressed in the future.
