JURY STILL DELIBERATING SEAN TAYLOR SLAYING CASE
A South Florida jury is back for a third day of deliberations in the trial of a 23-year-old man accused of fatally shooting the Washington Redskins star during an ill-fated 2007 burglary. Jurors wanted to quit early Thursday because some planned Halloween trick-or-treat outings with their children. They were scheduled to resume debating the fate of Eric Rivera Jr. on Friday morning.
GOV. SCOTT SETS DATES FOR SPECIAL ELECTION TO REPLACE US REP. BILL YOUNG
Scott issued an executive order calling for a Jan. 14 primary election and a March 11 general election. Young, a long-time Republican member of Congress, died earlier this month. House District 13 makes up most of Pinellas County.
