Incoming Navarre High School senior Matt Brewer, has been a leader on and off the field for several years.

This will be his fourth year of playing varsity soccer for Navarre High School and his third season playing varsity baseball.

Over the last three years, spectators have marveled at his exploits on the soccer field, as he constantly turned away the opposition before they could mount a threat. He is known as the anchor of the defense.

During a tournament in Tallahassee last school year, Coach B. J. Price was asked about Brewer’s condition after a hard hit at the end of the morning game.

“Brewer is Brewer,”  said Price.  “If he broke his leg, he would not tell me about it. He will be ready for the championship game.”

That tournament is one of Brewer’s best moments on the Raiders soccer team.

“My favorite soccer memory came in that Tallahassee Kickoff tournament,”  he said.  “We had to beat both Lincoln and Leon on the home field in front of their fans. It was a great moment.”
