Agri-Plex project moving forward

Plans for an Agri-Plex in East Milton are moving forward, according to project planner Kyle Holley.

More than 10 people attended an Agri-Plex information meeting July 19 at the Navarre Beach Area Visitor Center.

Holley, also a member of the north end subcommittee of the Tourist Development Council, said the Agri-Plex project had been in the works for about eight years. The project is aimed at increasing bed tax dollars and sustaining Northwest Florida’s agricultural industries.

The agriculture complex will be located on the north end of State Road 87 in East Milton near the Santa Rosa Industrial Park and East Milton Recreational Park. The Agri-Plex would be surrounded by commercial-zoned property so events and concerts would not disturb any residents, said Holley. The location also was convenient to Interstate 10 and Highway 90, making it a great location for farmers to sell fresh produce.
