Local diabetics thankful for Tour de Cure

Luke Burton, 4, who was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes when he was three, plays at Navarre Park after getting an insulin pump to help aide his struggle with diabetes.

Luke Burton of Navarre is an average 4-year-old. He loves playing outside and eating chocolate.

However, the latter of the two can make life complicated. Luke has Type 1 Diabetes and the simple joys of eating yummy treats such as chocolate aren’t so simple for him. Up until this week Luke has had to have five shots a day to keep his diabetes regulated.
