Fear leaves flu vaccines scarce in Navarre

Finding a flu shot recently in Navarre has turned into a game of chance.

“I am really lucky,” said Lena Morgenstern, who received the last high-dose vaccine available Jan. 14 at the Navarre location of Walgreens.

Members of the local community have heeded the warnings to get vaccinated as flu season continues, according to local pharmacists. Publix pharmacy manager Chris Currie said the last couple of weeks have seen customers who wanted flu shots really pick up, especially compared to this time last year.
