The Santa Rosa County Board of County Commissioners on May 10 decided to recognize EMS Week held from May 20 – 26. EMS Week is designed to highlight the work done by emergency management services technicians who save lives every day in high stakes situations.
Every shift of firefighters at the Holley Navarre Fire Department has at least one emergency medical technician (EMT) working. Lt. Arron Sandoval has been trained as an EMT since 2008.
“EMTs work the medical part, life support,” said Sandoval, “We do everything but push meds and intubation. Everything but needles.”
