With the recent deaths of military members by suicide still playing over the national media airwaves, officials at Hurlburt Field are on alert.

Though over the past year there have been no reported suicides at the air base, Capt. Corey Carnes, a clinical social worker with the Family Advocacy Office, is still working to raise awareness about the base's suicide prevention program.

Through the base's CARE team – Commando Agencies Reaching Everyone – Carnes said preventing suicide has become everyone's issue, not just that of a mental health worker.
