Changing lives, one book at a time

Read more...Navarre High School students are changing lives, one book at a time.

Around 62 students from the school coordinated and participated in the inaugural Book Bridge project, an initiative that aims to deliver books -- and promote literacy -- in Mongolia.

The students have collected more than 3,000 books so far.  Their goal is 15,000 by the end of the year.

Santa Rosa school district resumes drug screenings

The Santa Rosa County School District announced last week that it would resume random drug screenings for student-athletes, citing what officials said was an increase in drug-related incidents since they halted testing nearly two years ago.

According to Bill Emerson, assistant superintendent of curriculum and instruction , the district has seen a  “marked increase”  in the number of alternative placements since the district stopped funding the program because of massive budget cuts.
